For a while I couldn’t tell how NBC’s Community felt about Muslims. Abed, the Muslim character on the show, is amiable and so sagaciously uncharismatic that he’s actually intriguing the same way space aliens and insects are. Usually Community stays away from controversial “Islamic” topics but last week’s episode was a cluster bomb of ignorance.
